AFA.2015.0082_Works of Alteration to be carried out in the Building located in the Stairs of the Hill of the Jews in the 13, 53 and 47 and Street of the Monte dos Judeus, in the parish of Miragaia

The Archaeological Work Accomplishment (AAO), carried out in the context of the "Alterations in the building on the Stairs of the Mount of the Jews, no. 13, 53 and 47, and Rua do Monte dos Judeus" was immediately assumed as a preventive and Patrimonial safeguard. Thus, careful observation of all the operations carried out within the scope of the work allowed to verify that in the directly intervened spaces, essentially at the level of the subsoil, no vestige or archaeological structure was detected. In terms of archaeological materials, some ceramic fragments, all of contemporary chronology, associated with landfill, were exhumed to level the fractures and irregularities of the rock outcrop. In view of the foregoing, we are in a position to affirm that the said work did not have any negative impact on the archaeological and historical heritage.
