AFA.2019.0223_Comporta - Rural Tourism Unit, parcel 117C, Herdade da Comporta
The site is located north of the Vala Real, above the Coelheiros Valley Dam, between the Chaparralinho and Brejo das Bicas sites (map1), corresponding to a terrain with altimetric heights between 42 and 53m (referred to the average level of the sea). It corresponds to an alluvial plain area, part of the Tertiary deposits of the Sado basin and more recent sedimentary deposits, previously described. Analyzing the aerial photographs of the last years, the recent occupation with forest exploitation (aerial photo google 2006) is verified, and pine masses of Pinus pinea (Pinus pinea) are still present today (aerial photo 2013).
The morphology of the terrain presents smooth slopes in almost all its extension (between 0.5 and 2%), with specific situations of greater slope that do not surpass the 9.5%. At its northern end is born a small water line that flows towards the west, near the Chaparralinho, and arrives at the downtown of the Vala Real.
