AFA.2019.0218_Construction of the South and Southeast Station - Lisbon
The southern and Southeastern river terminal, designed by the architect Cottinelli Telmo, was designed and built between 1928 and 1932. The building is made up of a main body that develops in an area of ??797 m2 and lateral adjoining bodies that together occupy a area of ??554 m2.
The building is built in the Art Deco style, presenting in parallelepipedic and juxtaposed volumes. The exterior of the building is imposing but unobtrusive, with more noble materials and motifs in the interior, such as marble-pillar pillars and tile panels (these latter now removed and stored).
Following are the intervention measures to be implemented in order to provide the building under study with an adequate behavior in service and when requested by the seismic action.
