AFA.2019.0217_Alteration and Extension of a Building, located at Rua do Almada, no. 396-398 - Porto

The intervention building is located at Rua do Almada, no. 396/398, in the old Parish of St. Ildefonso, and is inserted in a Consolidated Urban area. The urban fabric where the building is inserted was substantially altered at the beginning of the century. XX with the construction of Avenida dos Aliados in the year 1916. Since then Rua do Almada has undergone successive changes as to its street profile design. The existing building has several pathologies regarding the state of conservation (covering at this moment permeable to water and consequently the timber framing that constitutes some floors in an empty state) and the current spatial organization lacks dignified heights and regulations for the spaces and uses of the even as they can check the photos of the existing one. The building currently consists of ground floor, an intermediate floor, first floor, basement and patio which contains a small annex decharacterized.
