AFA.2018.0185_AQUISITION OF SPECIALIZED EXCAVATION TECHNICAL SERVICES AT CASTRO DE UL 2018

It has three well-defined wall lines. Dr. Miguel Castro said in his communication that near the entrance of the Castro de Ul found 2 blocks with recordings, placed at about 2 m high. It suggests that it can be an anthropomorphic representation, a mark of territory or a schematic representation of the castro of Ul. The works carried out by Maia Marques in the 1980s allowed the identification of relatively well conserved structures and three distinct phases of site occupation. A first occupation would have taken place during the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age, which would explain the collection of numerous chert pieces and some polished pieces. From this occupation would be the base of a fireplace, in the nascent slope, not having been identified other structures that could be associated to it, presumes Maia Marques, because they are built of perishable materials that did not resist the later occupations of the archaeological site.
