AFA.2018.0168_Adaptation of PM 010 / Elvas to the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography

The new museum project is based on the adaptation of the former Military Maintenance Building, Elvas Branch, with the purpose of hosting the most significant collection of collections from the former Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum, António Tomás Pires and the former Grémio da Lavoura. The adaptation project was developed in accordance with the principles defined by the museum program, developed by the technical team of the Municipality of Elvas, taking into account the constructive and spatial characteristics of the existing building as well as its relationship with the city. The main objective of the intervention proposal is to improve the urban relationship of the building, by means of a proposal for intervention in the requalification of the surrounding area, as well as to minimize intervention on existing structures, valuing the main constructive and spatial characteristics that define the whole .
