AFA.2017.0138_PF13 - Alentejo Line - Poceirão-Bombel Section and Bifurcação de Águas de Moura Sul. Elimination of Constraints

In the area of Studies for the International South Corridor, it is intended to continue the projects that make feasible the elimination of existing constraints in the Alentejo Line, the Poceirão-Bombel section and the Southern Line / Poceirão Agreement, at the Bifurcação de Águas de Moura Sul , eliminating capacity constraints and enhancing operating conditions in a context of improving the safety and viability of the rail system. This modernization project came as a result of assessments of the capacity constraints of the national rail network. The section in question, Bif. of Águas de Moura Sul / Poceirão / Pegões / Bombel / Vendas Novas, represents about 35 km in length. Part of the section are the stations of Poceirão, Pegões, Bombel, Vendas Novas and Apeadeiros de Fernando Pó and S. João das Craveiras. Currently there is a private branch near the Pegões Station.
