AFA.2017.0133_CASTRO DE OSSELA
The Castro de Ossela occupies a privileged position on a water line, in a section of the Caima where there is a strangulation of the river. It has three walled orders and a moat that surrounds it by the East and the South. The entrance to the fort is apparently marked by a strangulation of the wall and the moat that runs to the East. At the top of the castro is a small chapel invoking Nossa Senhora do Crasto. To the north-east of the chapel one can still observe traces of excavations of Rocha Peixoto, dating back to 1908. Also the work of quarries in the arqueossítio, are abundant the vestiges. Ceramic fragments of different types and fabrics, as well as hand fragments of wood, abound throughout the season.
