AFA.2017.0132_INSTALLATION OF 4 WATER SUPPLY RANGE IN THE PROTECTED AREA OF THE GAIA CASTLE
The intervention area is inserted in the protected area of Gaia Castle, a significant toponym, which is already referenced in medieval documentation. About him is pronounced João de Barros, circa 1549, referring to its antiquity and the fact that it was believed to have been founded by Julius Caesar, so that there would be some stones with the name of the emperor engraved. The importance of the site, however, rests mainly on the discovery of material remains revealed during the excavation of archaeological excavations previously carried out, and which have given rise to the acquisition of some significant data that could confirm a long human occupation in the area.
