The intervention area is inserted in the former Convent of St. Joseph and St. Teresa of the Discalced Carmelites. The authorization for the foundation of the Convent of St. Joseph and St. Teresa of the Discalced Carmelite Sisters, requested by Friar Peter of Jesus, General of the Discalced Carmelites, was granted by King Peter I in 1701 and obtained the blessing of Bishop Joseph of Santa Maria.
