AFA.2008.0009_Pedreira Meio Mundo, Pico Island, São Roque do Pico

The present work of systematic prospecting and bibliographical survey carried out in the ambit of the Environmental Impact Study of Pedreira Meio Mundo, aimed at the identification of archaeological remains and ethnographic and architectural patrimony that could be affected by the execution of the work. Indeed, through archaeological prospecting, as mentioned above, no structures, habitats or traces were found which would be an impediment to the continuation of the project. Following the field work, 3 patrimonial elements, without archaeological, patrimonial, or ethnographic value, were identified and registered. As it was not verified the presence of archaeological vestiges and ethnographic and architectural heritage of interest in the whole area considered as belonging to the Middle World Quarry are not considered impacts on the archaeological heritage.
